Latest Updates from Our Project:

Live Demo with TWIST Gaming tonight at 8PM, Prologue Adventures Continue
over 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 04, 2019 at 06:13:04 PM

Tonight at 8PM Eastern we are going to run a live demo stream of 1001 Odysseys with TWIST gaming on their Twitch channel at twitch.tv/twistgaming. Come and join Julia and Chris, we'll be answering questions in chat, adventuring around Brumigum, and if you're lucky, Ivy will walk across the camera shot at least once during the evening.

The stream will be archived and available for viewing on YouTube afterward, if you miss it! (But don't miss it)

Prologue Adventures: Week 2!

Part 4 of your adventure on Terragast has been posted on plumplim.com, and we're gearing up for another week of fun exploration, as you enter the Terrafern Valley. Is it full of danger, scary bite-leafs and panthers?

As it turns out, no. Mostly just pleasant leafy herbs!

Achievements Unlocked! Stretch Goal #1 and a peek at our team having fun!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Feb 02, 2019 at 01:39:39 PM

Woosh! That is the sound* of the Odyssey soaring through its first stretch goal, unlocking Achievement Medals, a small booklet of stickers and optional tasks representing unique things you may find during your adventures in Insula. These are purely for fun, and you can put the stickers you earn anywhere (including in their spots in the book - but also potentially on your friends, refrigerator, or ceiling)

In commemoration of our backers earning this glorious achievement, we're presenting you with the following sticker:

Disclaimer: do not attempt to peel sticker off of your display.

This sticker includes bonus access to a fun video of us messing around while preparing the campaign:

We like to have fun, and we want you to have fun with our game too :)

Do you have fun or silly (or serious, fine!) questions to ask the team? Post them here or in the KS comments section and we'll answer!

*-I have been informed that there is no sound in space. Too bad, science, we're making it up as we go!

Prologue Adventure Act 2: Visit Terragast!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Jan 31, 2019 at 04:19:53 PM

We're closing in on our first stretch goal, hurray! Thanks to all who have backed so far.

Meanwhile, our Prologue Adventure is continuing with a journey to the world of Terragast. In the first act of the Prologue, we told the story of how the Odyssey first came to the region of Insula. Readers got to vote on how the story unfolded, and the same is true of our adventures on Terragast!

You can read the earlier stories and the new stories on plumplim.com, and vote on what you want to see next.

Terragast awaits!

100% Funded, in just eleven Plumplim leafits! Next: Stretch Goals, Design Diaries, and Web Adventures...
over 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 29, 2019 at 10:20:33 PM

We did the thing! In a timespan of just eleven leafits*, which are the canonical unit of time on Brumigum, home of the Plumplim. You might wonder how long a leafit is, but you can never be sure. One leafit corresponds to the precise amount of time it takes a Plumplim to have a satisfying nap.

STRETCH GOALS

Look at those shiny stretch goals. Up first at $75000 is a booklet of stickers called Achievement Medals. These commemorate strange and/or amazing events that you may strive for while exploring the stories of 1001 Odysseys. Where will you place the stickers? You could put them in the booklet, your passport, or...on your friends. Nothing says achievement like a sticker on your forehead!

DESIGN DIARIES

We've posted the second Design Diary on Plumplim.com, titled "Kid Friendly vs. Childish". Take a look into some of our thoughts on design, writing, and what makes things fun! We'll be posting more of these throughout the campaign to share our insights. We hope you enjoy them!

WEB ADVENTURES

Before the campaign began, we ran a prologue adventure on Plumplim.com sharing the tale of the Odyssey's first contact with Insula. Readers got to vote on what happened next, nudging the canonical backstory of the game! On Thursday, we will begin a new adventure, which all of you can participate in. It'll feature shorter, daily updates. If you missed out, this is your chance to join the story.

* - Did we make up the concept of "leafits" while writing this update? Maybe!
